Frequently Asked Questions

School Awards FAQ

How long does it take to engrave school awards?
Lead times depend on the type of award you choose and the quantity required. As a general guide, we aim to complete most school award orders within two weeks. During busy periods, such as the end of the school year or graduation season, we recommend ordering as early as possible to ensure your awards are ready in time for your presentation.
Can we order awards for multiple year groups?
Yes. We regularly supply awards for multiple year groups, classes and achievement categories within a single order. Whether you require awards for Key Stage achievements, subject prizes, sports awards or end-of-year presentations, we can personalise each award with the appropriate recipient names and engraving.
Do you offer discounts for schools?
Yes. We offer discounts for many schools, with pricing based on the value of your annual spend and the size of your order. If your school orders awards regularly throughout the year, please contact us to discuss the most competitive pricing available.
Can school logos be engraved?
In many cases, yes. Glass and crystal awards can usually be engraved with your school logo, provided suitable artwork is supplied. For materials that cannot be engraved with detailed logos, we can often provide professionally printed logo centres as an alternative.
Can we reorder the same awards next year?
Yes, provided the manufacturer continues to produce the award. We can often use your previous artwork and engraving layouts to make repeat ordering quick and straightforward. If an award has been discontinued, we will recommend the closest available alternative.

Glass Awards FAQ

What is the difference between crystal and glass awards?
Crystal and glass awards have a similar appearance, but crystal is a harder, denser material that offers greater clarity, weight and brilliance. Crystal awards are generally considered more premium, while glass awards provide an excellent balance of quality, appearance and value for money.
Are glass awards suitable for colour printing?
Some glass awards are suitable for full-colour printing, although this service is carried out by specialist suppliers rather than in-house. If you're looking for a colour logo or vibrant design, we'll be happy to advise which awards are suitable for this process.
Can you engrave logos onto glass awards?
Yes. We can engrave company, school and organisation logos onto many of our glass awards, provided the artwork is suitable for engraving. Vector artwork or high-quality black and white images usually produce the best results.
How should glass awards be cleaned?
Cleaning recommendations depend on the type of award. Standard engraved glass awards can usually be cleaned with a soft lint-free cloth. Awards that include colour infill or printed designs may require more careful cleaning to avoid damaging the finish. If you're unsure, we'll be happy to advise on the best cleaning method for your specific award.
Are presentation boxes included?
This depends on the manufacturer and the award selected. Many glass awards are supplied with a presentation box as standard, while others are available without one. The product description will normally indicate whether a presentation box is included.

Trophy Engraving FAQ

Can you engrave trophies purchased elsewhere?
Yes, although each request is considered individually. We generally prefer to engrave trophies supplied by Firbeck Trophies, as we can guarantee the quality and suitability of the engraving. However, if you have an existing trophy that requires personalisation, please contact us and we'll advise whether we can help.
What font choices are available?
The fonts available depend on the engraving equipment being used. For online orders, the font is selected automatically to provide the clearest and most professional result, so customers cannot choose a specific font. If you have a particular requirement for a larger order, please contact us before ordering.
Can you engrave photographs?
No. Our engraving equipment is designed for text, logos and simple graphics rather than photographic images.
What file format do you need for logos?
For the best engraving quality, we recommend supplying logos in a black and white vector format, such as AI, EPS or SVG. If you only have a different file type, please send it to us and we'll let you know if it's suitable or whether it can be converted.
How long does trophy engraving take?
Engraving times vary depending on the complexity of the work and the time of year. During quieter periods, orders may be completed sooner, but during our busiest season we recommend allowing 2–3 weeks for personalised engraving.

What are the best employee recognition awards?
Glass awards are one of the most popular choices for employee recognition because they offer a professional appearance, excellent engraving quality and outstanding value. They are ideal for long service awards, employee of the month, retirement gifts and annual achievement awards.

Yes. Every award can be personalised with individual names, job titles, dates, award categories, company logos and custom messages, making each presentation unique and meaningful.
Do you supply awards for annual ceremonies?
Yes. We regularly supply personalised awards for annual company events, staff recognition programmes, sports clubs, charities and business award ceremonies. Whether you need a single presentation piece or hundreds of awards, we can help.
